  • 1st Green Waves Summer Academy (2012):
    The first Green Waves Summer Academy was organized in May 2012 in Austria, Slovakia and Hungary. 32 students from eight universities and six countries participated the event. The specialty of the Sommer Academy was the mixture of compact lectures and cultural programmes.

1st Green Waves Summer Academy

 

  • 2nd Green Waves Autumn Academy (2013):

    The second Green Waves Autumn Academy took place in November 2013 in Austria, Slovakia and Hungary. 35 students from eight universities and six countries participated the event. The topic of the 2nd Green Waves Autumn Academy was “Smart Cities”. The course included lessons on electro mobility, energy storage, solar cooling, district heating, smart systems and various alternative generation technologies. It was framed by laboratory visits of the different universities. The students contributed to the program by presentations of their own.

2nd Green Waves Autumn Academy

 

  • Green Motions Summer Academy (2014)
    The Green Motions Summer Academy 2014 was held in Germany, Austria and Hungary. 30 students from Germany, Austria, Hungary and Sweden enjoyed an informative and also cultural trip along the Danube. During the two and a half week, participants were able to gain new experiences in courses with topics like photovoltaic, energy storage, power conversion, hybrid systems, intelligent transportation system, solar energy for vehicle driving and planning, forecasting of renewables in the different universities. Excursions to Infineon, Hatvan BOSCH and the Renewable Energy Park in Fot took place additionally.  Furthermore , cultural programmes were organized in Ulm, Linz, Melk, Vienna and Budapest. The distances between the stays were not only traveled by train and bus, but also by E-bikes. To sum it up, the students cycled more than 200 kms between Linz and Vienna. The Green Motions Programme  ended with presentations of the students and a farewell dinner. The project was financed by the Lifelong Learning Programme.

  • 3rd Green Waves Autumn Academy (2014)
    At the end of October, 32 researchers from Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Austria and Germany, including five employees of the Ulm University of Applied Sciences set off on an interdisciplinary cultural exchange. They began their trip in Budapest, where they visited nearby universities and participated in workshops. The trip continued with a ship to Serbia, on which there were presentations and even workshops, despite the unusual setting. The planned tour of the Kladovo dam and solar park in Serbia was unfortunately cancelled due to flooding. Instead, the group toured the Nikola Tesla Museum in Belgrade.

3rd Green Waves Autumn Academy

  • 4th Green Waves Summer Academy (2015)

Up-and-coming Scientists from the Danube 2015

38 participants from nine universities along the Danube river spent their summer traveling along the Danube through Vienna, Györ and Budapest. Under the direction of professors Gerd Heilscher, Thomas Walter and Franz Böhm from the Ulm University of Applied Sciences, the 4th Green Waves International Summer Program brought together young, promising scientists from very different backgrounds to tour the participating universities along Europe’s second longest river. Among the participants were students from the Ulm University of Applied Sciences, University of Applied Sciences Technikum Vienna, TU Bratislava, TU Budapest, Obuda University, Novi Sad University and Ruse University.
